How is Tholos different from Safe?
Safe only works on EVM chains (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, etc.). If your team holds assets on Solana, Bitcoin, or Cosmos, you need a separate solution. Tholos gives you one vault across 30+ chains, plus MPC key management instead of smart contract multisig, which means no seed phrases to manage.
How is Tholos different from Squads?
Squads is Solana-only. If your team also needs to manage ETH, BTC, or other assets, you're stuck with multiple wallets. Tholos works across Solana, Ethereum, Bitcoin, and 30+ other chains. Plus, Tholos includes bank transfers and OTC access built in.
Is Tholos truly self-custodial?
Yes. Tholos uses MPC (multi-party computation) to split your keys across multiple devices. We never have access to a complete key, so we literally cannot move your funds. Your team holds all the key shares needed to sign transactions.
What happens to my funds if Tholos goes away?
Your funds are always safe. Because Tholos is self-custodial, you hold your own keys. Even if Tholos ceased to exist, you would retain full access to your assets. We also provide key backup and recovery options so you're never locked out.

How do signers approve transactions?
Each signer uses the Tholos mobile app to approve transactions. The app securely stores their MPC key share and handles signing. When a transaction is proposed, signers get a push notification and can review and approve directly from their phone.
